Alright, so you –the 2 people who are reading this– probably want to know how it feels to live independently and it’s been not so bad. I mean, apart from not seeing my mother that often and bumping into friends much more frequently, everything else hasn’t changed much. Of course, now I have to wash my dishes and that’s no big deal, it usually takes less than 15 minutes and I find it relaxing. What did you think? That I didn’t clean up after myself? Psh.
Any place I used to go is now by walking distance (office, gym, restaurants, bars, clubs), there’s no need to take public transportation or a cab, which is a big big plus. Except for the 40 or so minutes I make my way to my mother’s house, but again, I tend to visit her on the Sundays like the good son I try to be.
A couple of friends have asked me if I have been feeling homesick yet, and I could say in the 4 weeks I’ve been living in this new place that hasn’t happened yet. What else? I’ve been bumping into more cute guys in this neighborhood. Since I’m shy, well, nothing else happens apart from swooning as they walk into my direction.
I have no fucking idea what’s going on, but it’s awesome and I love it
For the first eight years of our marriage, [Michelle and I] were paying more in student loans than what we were paying for our mortgage. So we know what this is about.
And we were lucky to land good jobs with a steady income. But we only finished paying off our student loans—check this out, all right, I’m the President of the United States—we only finished paying off our student loans about eight years ago.
